Microsoft Loop in 2025: what’s new and why teams are using it more

Nearly two years ago, we introduced Microsoft Loop during its preview phase. Since then, it has evolved into a powerful collaboration platform that enables real-time co-authoring and seamless content synchronization across Microsoft 365 apps.

Loop combines a flexible canvas with portable components that move between Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 apps. The result is faster collaboration, fewer communication gaps, and better alignment across teams.

Because teams here at KIT now use Loop regularly, this article updates our original 2023 post with a comprehensive look at its latest features and capabilities.

Key features of Microsoft Loop

• Flexible Workspaces: A blank canvas for text, lists, tables, images, and live data feeds. Everything stays synchronized across devices.

• Streamlined UI and new URL: Loop 2.0 introduced a cleaner interface and new URL (https://loop.cloud.microsoft) for simplified access.
• Enhanced Navigation: A left-side menu improves access to meeting notes, favorites, and recent items.
• Prominent Create Button: Start new workspaces or draft ideas from anywhere in the app.

• Table Detail View: Hover over rows to see expanded details without leaving the main table.
• Table Rules (Automation): Automate notifications based on status changes using Power Automate.

• Switch Between Table and Board View: Visualize data in the format that best fits your workflow.
